ALUMNI 5 QUESTIONS
SIERRA NAGER
Freshman - University of Arizona

1. What are your goals for this year’s college season?

This year for the college season I am working towards starting/playing in as many games as possible.  I want to prove myself on the field and show that I deserve one of the top spots on the team.  So far I have proved myself enough to participate in our first exhibition game and be part of the travel team.  I am also working to improve my game and fine tuning my technical and tactical skills.

2. What did you do for fun this summer?

Because I knew I did not have much time at home this summer, I tried to do something new everyday and make the most of the month I had before I left.  I went to the beach, went bowling, took a family vacation to Mexico, spent a day at the Del Mar Fair, camped out with my friends, went to SeaWorld, etc.  I just tried to make each day better than the last.  On top of the fun activities, I also spent each day of summer either training at Crossfit or running to prepare for the fitness tests before preseason.  Happy to say I passed all of them!

3. What is your major?Right now I am majoring in Physiology.

I chose this major because I love math and science and after attending a career fair at my high school, I talked to many people who chose that same major and now loved the career they had.  Although I am not sure what career I will pursue, I have looked into becoming a sports therapist and physicians assistant as possibilities.

4. Are you planning on attending the Women’s World Cup in Canada next year?

I would love to attend the Women's World Cup in Canada next year!  My dad travels to Canada every once in a while for his job, so we have talked about taking a trip out there to see a few games.  It would be an incredible experience!

5. Do you have any suggestions for the current San Diego United Players?

To the current San Diego United Players I would say don't take any practice or game for granted because club will be over before you know it.  You will meet some of your best friends on your club team and you build a little family over the years.  The coaches will push you hard at times, but it is only because they want to see you succeed.  If you want to continue your passion for soccer into college, start looking early!  Find the best fit for you in both soccer and academics.  Work hard for your teammates, your coach and yourself and always give 110% every time you step out on the field.  Most importantly, HAVE FUN and be proud of the club you come from!
